The Role
Based at our Smithfield site, we are currently looking for an Early Career Software Engineer who’s looking to take part in an exciting project, working on Python and SQL and shaping the future of the site systems quality and integrity.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the team on site with maintaining and developing a new software solution across the site.
The new Software Engineer will be able to tackle new and interesting problems each day, often requiring “out of the box” thinking and quickly acquiring new skills.
They will be able to communicate and collaborate with colleagues of varying computing experience to develop solutions that meet everyone’s needs.
Our Smithfield site in Western Sydney, manufactures a range of more than 60 fruit juice, fruit drink and water ice products and forms part of the juice portfolio – operating five days a week, 24 hours a day. The site currently manufactures approximately 110 million litres of finished goods every year including The Juice Brothers, Daily Juice, Mildura and Zooper Dooper.
Responsibilities:
  • Improve system quality by identifying opportunities and common patterns
  • Program and develop solutions in Ignition, from visualizations to outcomes, while creating excellent user-friendly systems and solutions
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and be the first point of contact with all related to software issues and debug codes
  • Develop training material for implemented solutions in the form of standard operating procedures and provide training to users
  • Support integration of manufacturing equipment into site MES and PLCs.
About You:
  • Completion of a Software/Computer Engineering or Science Bachelor’s Degree or Mechatronics Engineering Degree (or other equivalent degrees)
  • Programming proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Algorithm and data structures
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector will be highly regarded
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
